About Bankside Neighbourhood Forum

The Bankside Neighbourhood Forum is a partnership of local residents, businesses and community organisations, who are committed to developing a Neighbourhood Plan for Bankside under the auspices of the Localism Bill.

The Forum needs an experienced and creative organiser to help us gather the views of local people to inform a neighbourhood plan that reflects the aspirations, needs and beliefs of residents, organisations and businesses in Bankside, while reflecting some of the realities of the planning legislation and economic challenges of the area. We seek to receive a strong mandate in the referendum in 2014 and deliver a plan that can make a positive difference to the area for the five years it is in place.

The Government’s Localism Act now gives us all the chance to influence how our neighbourhood develops in future through a neighbourhood plan. It can help make sure that what we think is special now, stays special.
Since 2011, a group of residents, businesses and community organisations based in Bankside, SE1 have been working together to help inform the development of a Neighbourhood Plan for the area. The area covered is in the attached map.
