That is the responsibility and decision of the woman concerned, not yours.

Pro Lifers should lobby their MPs, and if they feel public vigils and demonstrations are necessary, they should stage these in Parliament Square and ask for the law to be changed.

It is wrong for them to upset and intimidate women, who have made the hard and momentous decision to terminate their pregnancy, by making them run through a hostile gauntlet when they visit a clinic.

Paramount abortion is not an easy choice for any woman . Contraception is not foolproof. Rattling off older methods: withdrawal..Dutch cap....Rendals pastilles...C film...condoms...the pill..tubal ligation...probably dozens more I've forgotten since my younger days.

Abortion methods from the past : drinking hot gin in a hot bath...throwing yourself down a flight of stairs...piercing your uterus with a needle...having soapy liquid forced through neck of womb... Drinking various abortifacients ..Ergot...Mistletoe ...Pennyroyal ....Ragwort..Tansy.

Either method could kill you. There are many reasons Paramount why woman are unable to proceed to giving birth. Some social, some medical. If a married woman has an affair which results in pregnancy and she has children what does she do? Her husband may be a psychopath and may kill her leaving children without a mother .

Trust me Paramount dear the last thing we need is a return to the old days. This is a case where the new is better.

No, whether to have an abortion or not.

Good on you Jan, well said.
Having known a woman who lost her life through having a back street abortion we must never return to 'the good old days' and allow it to happen again.
It is the individual woman's choice and must remain so.
No woman should be bullied and harassed by pro-lifers and religious zealots..

yes thank you Jan but peaceful protest must be allowed to continue and I feel Ealing Council are wrong to enforce these so called safe zones.... some have told me their conscience has spoken to them and they decide to continue with the pregnancy... there may well be medical consideration but the selfish society should never be allowed total free reign.. in this regard
