Does anyone know what is happening to the Pagoda on Tower Bridge Road? I peared in the window and there are a team of builders refurbishing the place. Does anyone know what it is it going to be when they have finished?

Yeah, I'll be interested to know what's going on there also.
Whatever it is it can only make The Pagoda better than the dive it undoubtebly is!!

Was a bit of a dump alright.
Heard they are making it a gastro pub with an open kitchen. A mate of mine knows the chef - Kerwin Brown, apparently he used to work for Gordon Ramsay. Could be brighter days on the cuisine front in SE1 if this is the case!!

Last time I went into the 'Paggy' ( few years back) the food was abysmal. So will look forward to trying it out when it re-opens.

It will be great for the south Tower Bridge Road area if the new Pagoda serves good food.

Apparently it's going to be called 'The Hartley' in reference to the Jam Factory not the hare from 'pipkins'

And I thought it might be a reference to JR Hartley (whatever happened to him?) in homage to this site.
