School holiday nightclub opens in Borough

London SE1 website team

London's first weekly teenage night club is opening in SE1 to provide somewhere for young people to relax, use their skills and meet friends within a controlled and safe environment.

Rhythm is for under 18s and will open every Sunday evening throughout the summer school holiday at the SeOne Nightclub on Weston Street.

London youth worker Charles Bailey is the organiser and comes to SE1 after successfully running under 18s events throughout Kent for nearly 2 years. "There is an increasing demand for more social and leisure activities for young people" says Charles. "Our aim is to provide somewhere for young people to relax, meet friends, have fun and use their skills, all within a controlled safe environment."

Each week DJs will play a wide range of music to cater for most music tastes.
Rhythm also wants to encourage young people to sign up for the opportunity to showcase their talent live at one of the Sunday events. “We want to get the youngsters involved and to support dance, singing and DJ workshops for young people throughout London" says Charles.

The club launches at 6pm on Sunday 18 July. The age group is strictly 13-18 with a smart casual dress code. Hoods and caps will not be allowed. A bar will be serving soft drinks only.

• Rhythm is on Sunday nights at 41-43 St Thomas Street (entrance Weston Street) 07956 915208.
