Phillida Shaw has been installed as Master of the Glaziers' Company. She is the first woman to hold the office during the Glaziers' 676 year history.
The installation took place at the riverside Glaziers Hall opposite Southwark Cathedral. Earlier this month Southwark's Guildable Manor Court Leet, sitting in the Cathedral's Library, appointed its first woman Foreman to also hold office during the coming year.
Speakers at the Glaziers' installation dinner included Cathedral School Head Sylvia Morris who responded to the toast.
The first public appearance of Phillida Shaw robed as Master will be in procession at the annual Glaziers' Service on the eve of Candlemas in the Cathedral.
