Remembrance Sunday in SE1

UPDATED: This Sunday is Remembrance Sunday, with services and commemorations across SE1.

The annual wreath-laying and remembrance service at the war memorial in front of the former Southwark town hall (now the Slug and Lettuce) in Borough High Street starts at 10.45am

At St George's RC Cathedral there will be a special service by the memorial outside the Cathedral, beginning at approx. 10.45am. The 11.30am Mass will be a Requiem Mass.

HMS Belfast will be holding its annual service of remembrance on board, starting at 10.30am, conducted by Revd John Freston, Chaplain of the Belfast Association. Seats are reserved for friends of the Imperial War Museum and VIP guests. The public are welcome to attend (standing room only, standard admission fee applies).

A remembrance service at Shakespeare's Globe takes place on Saturday at 4pm, includes an exhibition and performance by an all-female cast. Free tickets from 020 7401 9919.
