Police seek witnesses to Westminster Bridge pedestrian death

At 1.15am on Saturday 22 December 2012 London Ambulance Service and police were called to Westminster Bridge to reports of a collision involving a taxi, a double decker bus and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian casualty, Marian Albu, a 47-year-old homeless man of Romanian descent, was treated by the London Ambulance Service but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The taxi and the bus stopped at the scene.

A post-mortem gave the cause of Mr Albu's death as multiple injuries.

"We have identified from CCTV two witnesses who could be key to piecing together the last moments of Mr Albu's life," said Det Sgt Jeff Edwards of Hampton Road Death Investigation Unit.

"I would urge them to call us on 020 8941 9011 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

No-one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
