Jon Findlay to be chief operating officer of Guy’s & St Thomas'

Findlay is currently chief operating officer and deputy chief executive at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, a role he has held since January 2014.

Before working at Southend, he was director of operations at Guy's and St Thomas' where he was responsible for operational performance and the strategic development of clinical services across the two hospital sites.

The COO role at Guy's and St Thomas' was previously held by Amanda Pritchard who has since been promoted to chief executive.

Amanda Pritchard said: "I am very pleased that we will be welcoming Jon back to the trust as our new Chief Operating Officer.

"Since his move to Southend, Jon has not only had the opportunity to experience a different organisational culture and new approaches but also as deputy chief executive he has broadened his experience of both the internal and external agendas, particularly through working in partnership with other NHS providers and national teams at NHS England and NHS Improvement."

Jon Pritchard said: "I am very much looking forward to returning to Guy's and St Thomas'. There are many unique challenges, as well as fantastic opportunities, at a trust of this size and complexity.

"Across the NHS we are experiencing significant change, particularly as we are now expected to work in a more collaborative way to deliver high quality care and service transformation for a wider health economy.

"It is positive to see that Guy's and St Thomas' is helping to lead the Service and Transformation Plan for South East London, and I look forward to contributing to this."
