Great bar, great food
I agree with the previous post, the building doesn't look great from the outside, but inside is now really stylish! Staff are really friendly, different beers on tap and the food always seems really fresh and tasty, I am quickly becoming a regular!
Impressed
The SE1 lunch club visited on 27th June.

I had the turkey, bacon and cheese hot sandwich at £7.25 - very tasty!

This place is right opposite The George Inn, and shares the same courtyard. However, the Heeltap has its own roped-off area.

This is one of those place that looks a bit naff from the outside, but is great on the inside and a bit of a Tardis - and is everything The George Inn (in my experience) is not...

1) Food is tasty, well cooked and reasonable for the area (I had a cold bangers and mash at the George)

2) The waitresses and other staff are polite and attentive

3) You can actually get served at the bar in a reasonable time - The George Inn is really bad for wait times

4) The place is child friendly - even inside

So, when I enter the courtyard in future, I will be turning left for the Heeltap, and giving The George Inn on the right, and its tourists, a miss.
