Jeweller to alter signet ring

Hi all,

This time I'm looking for a jeweller who can repair a signet ring.

I understand the problem with the ring I have is that the back is solid when it should have a cut out shape. As a result the stone inlay doesn't sit flat & is prone to falling out. In the past this stone has been glued in. (!)

All the other signet rings I've seen have the back cut out, so that's what I'm going for.

Any jeweller suggestions? It's a good ring (gold with a finely carved stone insert), so I'd like someone who knows what they're doing.

Go and talk to Davies and Vaughan in Gabriels Wharf. Absolutely genuine jewellers. If it can't be done they will say so.

I'd like to find a jeweller that would let you watch while they alter your ring..my engagement ring needs altering and the stone is a nice one, some dodgy jewellers years ago used to take out stones and replace them with something cheaper!
