There was a discussion earlier this year with mixed views about the 99p store opening up in the former Clarks in E&C shopping centre.

Well folks Clarks have taken on the old Woolworths which is a much bigger place. It will open in Winter apparently.

Now that's great news. As a 6'2" bloke who wears size 11 and likes brogue type shoes, Clarks at the E&C was the best place for them locally. Excellent.

Oh I AM delighted...this is such good news! I was the one who posted the "shoe shop shock" thread,so despondent was I about Clark's - three cheers!

I'm rather glad - I like a good factory shop. Now if only we had a factory clothing shop... or chocolate shop!

This is very welcome news, even if Clarks are not from around these parts.

Sensible shoes for sensible people!

Shoes you can actually walk in!

I wonder why other shoes shops do such awful shoes, I find Clarks are the only ones I can wear comfortably.

A chocolate outlet shop is a terrible idea, I would never be able to leave.
