A few of us have finally managed to set up the 'Thorburn Square Conservation Society'. We've been meaning to do this for years, to give the residents a say in local planning and other important matters.

You can join the group at the following link. Please pass this around to any friendly neighbours you have.

Southwark Council have just undertaken a draft appraisal of the area and have invited comments from us. If you join the group I've posted the draft appraisal, and the draft comments from us, within the 'files' area of the group site. Please feel free to read and post any comments you have, or email them to me.
The changes to wording may seem quite innocuous but they are important. As this appraisal document will become one of the cornerstones of planning reference for the area it's vital that we get our views across.

Please do join up and get involved with the group. We will soon become formal consultees on any planning applications raised within the conservation area. We aim to provide a positive, constructive and helpful voice within the planning process, to help preserve our beautiful area and allow sympathetic and well designed developments.

Hopefully we'll sort out some sort of social get-together when we get a few members signed up!
