Just seen a reference to this address. I worked in this building for about 6 years in the early sixties. It was called UAC House. Had 11 floors and was the HQ of The United Africa Co., part of the Unilever Group.
The main entrance was used in a film of Hancock - something about a painter? The building was like an upended matchbox
I remember a chap threw himself from one of the higher floors and landed on the canopy entrance. Just walked into an office opened the window and jumped
Not a good idea.
I took my narrow boat up the Thames from Limehouse about 6 years ago and was saddened to see a space like a pulled tooth!
Hope this helps.
