So, OK the Nhs is rubbish,but as an SE1 resident, and (failed ) doctor, am I proud that this happens on our patch.

The NHS isn't rubbish, but I agree this is brilliant. Guys and St Thomas really are excellent hospitals and we are lucky to live near them.

Ooops, I don't agree with the "the Nhs is rubbish" part, only the "proud that this happens on our patch. " part.

It's easy to call the NHS 'rubbish', but for all its flaws it is still a free, world class service.

This new surgical procedure is a good example of how state funded medicine can lead the way.
