Scented trees on Southwark Bridge Road

There are a number of trees opposite the Co-op on SBR which give off the most amazing scent at this time of year. I haven't been able to identify them from any book. They have light coloured upright panicles (is that the right word) of flowers. I would love to know what they are. I wish it were possible to go to a website and find out what any tree in a street was. or they could put signs up.

Could be a Manna Ash. I think this is what is in Hatfield Green; smells delicious.

They are English Laurels. Completely toxic for hay fever sufferers!

Thanks Scott77 That seems to be exactly right. Fortunately my hay fever is only with grass so I can enjoy them but I can see how it might be difficult if you are allergic to them as the scent fills the street.
