Dr Salter statue...

...is being re-installed next to the Angel pub.

Was cycling past last night and saw a crane lowering a new statue into position.
Hope they fix him down really well this time.

Wonderful! I wish I could be there. This beautiful work was installed whilst I lived in Rotherhithe, in a different position. On my river-walks, I always stroked the cat as I walked by :p

Thats great James, out of idle curiousity what did they say the statue is made of? If it's anything saleable they would have to bolt it to the ground and put an alarm on it!

My neighbour had her brass door knocker removed, and her lock escutcheon in the middle of the night by thieves!

Dr.Salter and his wife were special people and deserve to be remembered.

I went by to say hello the other day.
It is a wonderful installation in a great spot.
Lovely to see Joyce and her cat back after so long.

What fantastic news. I miss them on my river walks. I hadn't realised there was an appeal for funds. Not too late I am sure.
