I have some wooden framed sash windows that use spring balances (i.e. not cord and weights) and are in need of attention. Probably just pawls or failed fixings. Also a leaking double glazing unit (it's apparently misting up which suggests to me a glazing unit seal is broken).
Can anyone recommend a reputable window repairer for SE1?
Needs to sign off to Building Regs, so a general handyman probably won't do. And the glazing units are heavy, so he will need a mate.
Yes Draft Busters are a great company. They did all our replacement wooden sash windows and have done several houses in the conservation are we live in. Lovely family company who did a great job. Everyone we know who has used them raves about their service. They are not the cheapest but they are real quality craftsmen. 02082914888.
No connection. Come and look at our lovely windows if you want (Grange Road way).
Pearsons Glazing in Peckham are a reputable firm specialising in double glazing repairs and maintenance. They also do work for Southwark Council so will be au fait with need for compliance with Building Regs. No connection, etc.
We were very impressed with the quality work that Keith did on our original sash windows. He was very tidy, prompt and professional, and gave us the best quote. Not a large company, but local and reliable. Just what we were looking for. We would definitely use him again. http://www.londonsashwindows.london
