Off the back of that I contacted them to ascertain if they also plan on serving The Circle
They've replied to me indicating they'd be interested in doing a building survey to look into the feasibility of serving the block. They've asked for contact information for the Residents Management Committee or similar so that they can reach out and see what can be done. Is anyone on here in contact with any committee members? Or has other suggestions for who might be a good point of contact?
Even the mere prospect of tackling the woeful exchange only ~4Mbit speeds is enticing.
The best point of contact to start with would be Charlotte Pickering at Rendall and Rittner, the RTM's appointed property managers – she's in regular contact with both the residents' association and Dennis, the building manager.
To avoid spammers picking up her email, their address structure is first name dot surname at rendallandrittner dot co dot uk.
Thanks to exigo for pointing me in the right direction regarding a contact, things are moving on with this.
Hyperoptic are arranging a survey of the building and a page is up on their website to gauge interest - only 24 residents left need to express an interest for them to move forward. If you're living in the Circle and interested, this is the page
If you get a green "AO" on the map then your address supports BT fibre and all other ISPs that unbundle that service.
If you get a blue "?" on the map it means you're on an exchange only line (which seems to plague many properties in shad thames) and you'll have to wait for either BT to sort out the lack of cabinet problem or for a company like hyperoptic to cable you up directly with fibre.
Looks like this is going round in circles (pardon the pun). Hyperoptic have sent out an e-mail to all who have "registered interest" asking for contact details for the RTM. I replied to this with details of previous correspondence with Charlotte and was told in reply that Charlotte had received no instruction from the RTM and now Hyperoptic wish to liaise direct with the RTM in an attempt to get some traction.
I've tried to find out who is on the committee myself in order to start a discussion and get this moving but have drawn a blank - does anyone on here have details for the Circle RTM? No need to post on the public forum, PM will do.
Thanks in advance!
PS: Any resident who has yet to register interest can still do so, link is below - more interest can't hurt!
