It's 10pm, Sunday night and suddenly loads of fireworks have been let off (bricklayers arms area). Any idea what for? Also does anyone know what the rules are about how late you can set them off. (Especially as firework season is nearly upon us!)

You can in fact let fireworks off any time of year and any day of the week including Sundays, but you must let them off before 11pm. Exceptions to the 11pm rule are: November 5th (Bonfire Night / Guy Fawkes): You can let fireworks off until midnight. December 31st (New Year's Eve): You can let fireworks off until 1am.

Thank you for the update. Not sure who you would call anyway if they are let off outside of these times, council, police (non emergency of course!). Think it's time the rules need to be changed!! For pet owners like me, its a nightmare.

Just had some more horrendously loud fireworks let off at The Tank in SE1. Not aware of why, its not to my knowledge a special day!!! but another night of a freaked out dog!

They were very loud! Thought it was an explosion at first. Wonder what it was all about?

A lot of the neighbours were out there enjoying them, only went on for 10 mins or so
