I am researching my family tree and my great-grandfather William WILLIAMS lived in 17 Fashion Street in the 1860s. The house was renamed in 1881 to 122 Tanner Street. I have found a wonderful photo on the LMA Collage site dated 1938 and there is a property mark that means the house was at one time part of the Bridge House Estate. Do any of you have old photos of this Dockhead end of Tanner Street or history such as bomb damage. The house is long gone and only a few of the terrace houses remain near the closed Nine bar.

Try the John Harvard local history library at the Borough, they have an extensive photo collection going way back which one can photocopy.

Thanks, I will do that when I am next in London as I stay in Edinburgh so it will wait a bit. I visited it last year and was very impressed.
