Blimey, what on earth happened here? Looks like the road exploded. No water at Waterloo station apparently. All food outlets and toilets closed...
I would put pix up but donít know how.

I live on Grange Walk, and it affected our water pressure! There was trickle out of all the taps.

I have lived in London and SE 1 for almost 40 years. And have seen and experienced many burst water mains events. But this one seems especially disruptive. I saw the clips of the water on the day. That was impressive. But the damage to the road and subsequent repairs looks like it was a major event. Much more than a "normal" broken water mains.
Is there more info available?

The damaged section of pipe is underneath a sewer which is what is making things more complicated.

Blackfriars Road now open but the Cut and Union Street still blocked
