Hello, I'm thinking of opening a small coffee/sandwich shop. I've been looking at various properties in Southwark and I'm interested in a property which is part of a parade of shops on Harper Rd. I like the area its densely populated with a good mix of people. There is also a huge school an Nhs practice and a few other businesses in the area.
Would this be a welcome addition to the area? whats everyone thoughts?
Thanks Matt....
Your idea has merit Matt, bearing in mind at borough end of Harper rd. The doctors , chemist, think sandwich shop was still there when I passed by last year. That corner is going to be demolished and think six storey building is going up. Think by end of March this year the borough medical practice will no longer be there. Patients are being transferred, You also have Court Sessions on the corner.
Hope you succeed...
Ps.mines a black coffee, a crab sandwich with cucumber!
As someone who lives on Harper Road I think a coffee shop would be a very welcome addition to the area. It’s a good time to be starting a business here as Dickens Square Park across the road is getting a makeover this year as is the street itself. The new hotel and residential developments should ensure your business is a success if the coffee is good.
It's a yes from me too. Living in nearby Brockham Street I find the Harper Road shopping parade very useful, especially since "Harper News" (a misnomer as it doesn't sell newspapers any more) opened up a post office service. Blue Moon supermarket is very good too. Your coffee shop has every chance of making good.
