I've seen the useful discussion below about private dentists - but do I have any hope all finding a NHS dentist in SE1 that is actually taking patients? And if there is - are they at all likely to be any good?

Recommendations greatly received!

Any "don't go there" stories also useful!

I'm very interested in this too - I have toothache, and my last NHS dentist (not in SE1) committed fraud on my behalf without telling me and then tried to get me prosecuted for it in preferance to himself, so I wont be going there again.

Mr Ng never carries out unneccessary work, on my daughters last three attendances - nought has needed doing...small unflashy premises - good dentistry..thought I had better give phone number....0202 703 9922

Thought I might give Mr Ng a call......How on earth do you pronounce Ng?

I think it's Ing, but the pronunciation may vary from person to person, I suppose.

I believe Ng is pronounced 'Featherstonehaugh-St. John-Cholmondley'

I have used the dentists up at The Elephant for 20 years now without complaint. Mr Kwan is my usual but they're all good. They're next to the Coronet.

Thanks everyone - will try both Mr Ng and Mr Kwan - and let you know how I get on!
