Does anyone know if the roadworks at the Junction of Southwark St & Great Suffolk St will include a pedestrian crossing? I ask as every time I take my little boy for a walk on the embankment we risk life and limb at this crossing. It was bad enough before the Tate opened but now you have to share the tiny island with hordes of tourists.

In fact how dumb are our council not to make provision for visitors to the Tate to be able to walk there safely?

What are you doing risking your child's life by making them walk??? Get a 4WD, silly.

:0)

...if you press it, they will come.

I would like to see pedestrian crossings fitted with giant nets - which could be raised in a trice (like giant tennis nets) across the road whenever a pedestrian approached the road. We could use motion sensors to sense the approach of a pedestrian, and a huge warning klaxon to alert the drivers so that they can slam on their brakes before the net slides up. aaawwwoooooooooooooorrrggghhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahhh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (or something like that).

I will write to TFL immediately.
