Does anyone know if there is a National Health dentist practicing in the area?
(I'm broke - and now so is my tooth . . .)

A couple of the more recent threads on this subject (try clicking search, all dates, dentist for the rest):

Thanks for that, very helpfull - I had entered "dentist" in the search box and got nothing ... perhaps I pressed the wrong button?

Glad to be of help.

Think you probably need to set the date setting to "all dates", not "last 30 days".

Thank you - and, yes, selecting "all dates" does make a difference! (I shall know next time!)

I looked on the NHS website - there's a local services bit that will tell you what's available in your area - and whether they're taking NHS patients or not :

Alternatively I've just got in to MP Dental Practice on Jamaica Road (just east of Bermondsey Tube) and have got in as an NHS patient - really friendly, clean and modern

Good luck!

The NHS direct website is useful in theory but not really in practice - I tried last week to register with an NHS dentist but of the 10 listed on the website anywhere near me who were supposed to be taking new NHS patients I called 8 -and not a single one was actually taking anyone on. So generally its a bit of a waste of time and phone calls. It would be useful to know if you do find one in the Borough area though!

Out of the ten on the NHS website, I only found one dentist accepting NHS registrations...

25 Tower Bridge Road

Tel 020 74077427

They have booked me for thursday, so I didn't have to wait long.

Interesting - I look forward to hearing how they treated you. I hope you have a pleasant experience

I've been going to see Mr Kwan at The Elelphant for 20 years or so with no complaint. Under the bridge at the top of the New Kent Road. I have experience of Mr Annobil too and I would recomend Mr Kwan.
