Does anyone happen to know where the nearest distribution point is for taking clothes, food etc. for the Tsunami disaster appeal? Thanks.

I think all the charities involved are asking for cash at the moment, to be able to buy supplies closer to the scene of the disaster

The joint Disasters Emergency Commitee (which gathers funds on behalf of Oxfam, Help the Aged, Save the Children, Oxfam, Cafod, Action Aid, Red Cross, Christian Aid etc.) have a website for online donations at:

http://www.dec.org.uk/ or you can phone the appeal on 0870 60 60 900

If you prefer to visualise what you are buying through your support for the appeal, Oxfam has a "gift shop" at: http://www.oxfamunwrapped.com/

There are links to the other individual charities from this BBC news page:
