I need a reliable cab firm that will take a pre-bookings and turn- up when they're meant to (got to get to airport v.early am) but I haven't had any cards through the door or noticed any offices nearby.

Can anyone recommend?

(or indeed recommend cheaper way of getting to Heathrow by 5.30am?)

Try Express Cars. They are very reliable and their cars are always clean and of good quality. Their number is 0207 403 3333. I use them a lot and they've never let me down.

I usually get my brother to drive me there. Heathrow Express should be much cheaper.

Boyson cabs have always been my first choice - really safe and reliable and cheap - sorry can't find the number right now - they are in SE17 off the Walworth Road

"Heathrow Express should be much cheaper"

I disagree. I've had quotes of about 30-35 quid for LHR, but then about 20 quid to go to Paddington (in hours before the tube is running). So add on the cost of the LHR express fare and it often makes no sense. Easier and cheaper to use a taxi.

I'd recommend Airport Flyers, 7940 4692/4693.

SE1-LHR 22.

I found Express cars to be pricey.
