At least according to Borough & Bankside Lib Dems TODAY leaflet.
Crime fallen across Southwark
Burglary and vehicle crime down sharply
Police numbers up to 891
93 crack houses shut down (although they probably opened somewhere else next day)
50 ASBO's served.
131 new Community wardens ( what exactly do they do, apart from wander aimlessly about )

Southwark is now the joint 4th cleanest borough in London
From March 2006 the C10 bus service will be extended to run from E & C up Borough H. St
and along Long Lane, Abbey St and Jamaica Rd

On the other side, 243 million litres of untreated sewage pumped into the Thames in last 4 years so
don't hang over any bridge inhaling the fumes.
All in all though it appears the council are doing a good job.

93 crack dens shut down? In one average sized borough?

Wow. How many in total do you reckon there are? Hundreds? Thousands? That's quite scary.
