Eveining all

I'm about to move to the wonderland of SE1 and I'm not sure where to go. Feel free to recommend me bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs around the area. My flat is near Tesco OKR but I'm sure there's more to life than that..... (please God)

Take a walk towards New Kent Rd/London Bridge Rd, and on you left, you will find a little cafe called Ozzies, not far from Lidl store..
Never failed me m8.
Wot age/genre?
For me, being Irish, it don't really matter, so long as the craic is good, and in all fairness, get a pub on a bad day, which we all have would not be fair.
I'm an East St/Walmar Rd man.
Try "The Good Intent", if you have an early druth.
If you like the hossies, try the "Gladstone" on "King & Queen St".
"The Bell" for a bit of my local hospitality.
Or for a few wind down pints, try "The Masons" on a Sunday morning.
The world is your oyster, but don't forget the bargains in the market.
Good luck with your new home.

Welcome to SE1 ruffers!

There's plenty of comment on here about local venues if you have a search around. If you find any gems let us know!

If you want live music in a proper Irish boozer try the Crown & Anchor on the New Kent Road (more likely to be punk than diddly-diddly).

If you want good beer, loads, but the Royal Oak, Tabard St has to be up there.

If you want to get scared silly, try The George, Tower Bridge Road

A local atmos, try the Mangrove (Marigold) Bermondsey St (south of Long Lane).

For no atmos, Simon the Tanner, Long Lane

Thanks all.

I should point out I found birdie around 18 - 19 years ago! I'll be working my way through the suggestions forthwith.

Heh heh... I go in there a couple of times a week... a full on shouty SE1 local boozer - but I've never seen any trouble there. All bark and no bite.

I've played pool in there a few times, and the juke box is great (imo).
