It seems as if 1 Westminster Bridge is finally going to be demolished. I walked past this evening and it had a countdown timer giving the time before the demolition.

At around 8pm this evening, it said 6 days and 15 hours to go, which would make it around 11am next Thursday (25th May) that it'll be going.

I assume (since theres a countdown timer) that they'll be blowing it up. Does anyone know for sure if this is the case? If so, I might go down and watch.

In case you're wandering, this is the building I'm talking about:

I think I prefer the building that's already there to what they plan to replace it with.

Are you sure about that Mickey? Do you want to think about it for a moment?

...if you press it, they will come.

Everyone knows that mickeysalt is not a fan of redevelopment to put it mildly, but I think that this is taking the point a little far.

IMHO the existing building is one of the worst in the UK and I for one will celebrate its demolition.

And before you ask, they can't turn the resulting site into a park.

Ha ha - you make me laugh, Mickey.

Except, maybe I shouldn't laugh at the visually challenged (TFIC!)

Kind regards,

I thought I was the one that wanted everything turned into a park.

I assume we still get a plaza with buses running through?

Mickeysalt, your cause looses credibility - your obsession is distorting your sense of judgment.
