What a fantastic show the fireworks were for London this year !
Yesterday New Years Day, my husband and I, both SE1 residents walked from the Globe Theatre along the Embankment to Hungerford Bridge to cross the river.
I was utterly ashamed !
The embankment was in a disgusting state, broken glass , empty bottles, food packages, take away cartons, strewn along the walk ways.
I was ashamed to think i lived there !
It was such a beautiful day , no clouds the sun shining and London looked fantastic, enticing for any tourist! There were plenty of them around.
I appreciate that there were thousands of people out and about on New Years Eve.
Good old Ken, you put on a wonderful display, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CLEANERS, ROAD SWEEPERS, to clear up all the mess left by everyone.Did you forget that this would be necessary
I am sure from around 2am - until Noon, when we started walking, your budget could have stretched to make London look lovely and clean again.
There are some very needy people around that would have appreciated payment for several hours work!!
