Can anyone suggest a good place to meet up for a birthday party for a one year old? I think there's likely to be about 10 adults and 5 children. I don't want anything too formal, just a place where we can eat and the children can play. Thanks.

Hi

We have rented out Bermondsey Village Hall in Snowfields park a couple of times for toddler parties. They used to let you borrow their toys..not sure now.

The number to contact is on the board outside of the hall

The Chipper Club is good too - on Crosby Row - really good for smaller kids as there's lots of soft play and a separate kitchen - you'll need to book it through the office at Charterhouse-in-Southwark on Tabard Street.

Not exactly kids party, and not exactly SE1, but have you tried Lebouchon in Battersea? http://www.lebouchon.co.uk/. They provide a crèche for the more active children, leaving the adults to enjoy some decent food other than the usual pizza & doughballs, even without the creche we've found them to be child friendly.
