I saw a thread a few weeks ago where someone had a cheque in the post which was intercepted and cashed. The same thing has just happened to me and it has taken the bank over a month to prove that I never received it. I will get the money refunded, but the bank warned me that fraudsters are now tracking post to get personal details and then opening accounts when they see a cheque..... and people worry about the security of on-line shopping?!
Watch out!

Apparently one of the biggest selling Christmas gift this year are Paper Shredders. People do rake through bins looking for credit card receipts etc for the purposes of carrying out fraud.

Hi Anthony, it was me that mentioned it in an earlier thread. It really horrified me that it was such a nightmare to get my money back. BUt eventually I did which was the main thing. The thing that intrigues me is at which point did my cheque get stolen? Before it was posted, somewhere during the post system, or after it was posted in to my thief friendly post box?
