I wandered through the Marble Arch branch of Allders today as they had large banners
advertising up to 70% off. Everything must go including fixtures and fittings.
Well, if price was the only criteria for a bargain then there were some to be had,
but if uselfulness and style were taken into account, forget it. What a load of junk.
No wonder they're closing down. Anything useful like electricals could still be
bought cheaper in John Lewis. Maybe on the final day before closedown you might pick
something up but not this week, and all the staff looked (understandably)
depressed and the floors littered with fallen merchandise.
Must find out when the last day is.

On a similar note, Sainsbury's on Oxford Street (Tottenham Ct. Rd. end) is closing down. Last day of trade tomorrow (Friday 4th March). [Might be some bargains in fresh foods - everything else will be carted to another store, I guess.]

I went to Allders in Croydon and thought the same: junk and grumpy staff. Bye Allders.

Perhaps they are just grumpy because they live in Croydon and are about to be out of a job?
