First of the two popular Southwark Carol Services with carols sung by the boys, girls and men of the Cathedral Choir in candlelight.
This year the readings are taken from St Matthew's account of the birth of Jesus and will be interspersed with congregational and choir carols.
The service is repeated on Tuesday.
