Cherie Booth to visit Morley Gallery

Cherie Booth QC will mark International Women's Day on 8 March when she visits the Morley Gallery to open a new exhibition of art by women prisoners. March into Holloway is the result of a project that ran at HMP Holloway during March 1999, and features charcoal drawings, paintings, ceramics, woolcrafts, creative writing and textiles. The exhibition includes background information about the prisoners/exhibitors and general displays about women's prisons. The organisers say that above all the exhibition will "illuminate the women's creativity [and] humour".

Other organisations in SE1 marking International Women's Day include Blackfriars Settlement, who will be holding an event at their Rushworth Street base. Call 020 7928 9521 for details.
