Labour's Val Shawcross has been returned as Lambeth and Southwark's member of the London Assembly, beating off a strong challenge from Lib Dem Caroline Pidgeon
Whilst the Labour vote fell almost five per cent, Shawcross held on with a 5475 majority.
A strong campaign by Caroline Pidgeon delivered a four and a half per cent increase in the Lib Dem vote.
The Conservative vote fell more than three per cent compared to the 2000 election.
