A 32-year-old man has been jailed for 10 years after pleading guilty to the possession of 7.6 kilos of pure cocaine with a street value of £746,500 with intent to supply.
Michael Allen Lee Watts of Longland Court in Rolls Road was sentenced on Friday at the Inner London Crown Court following a successful operation by the Met's Central Task Force.
At 10.40am on Tuesday 17 August 2004 officers from the unit attended Watt's address and executed a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act. The cocaine and a quantity of cash was seized and Watts was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.
He was also charged with an offence under the Proceeds of Crime Act and £34,510 in cash was seized. A confiscation hearing is expected to be heard on 23 March.
It is believed that the drugs were destined for the streets of south-east London.
