Mayors to take a spin on the London Eye for local charities

Many of London's 32 borough mayors will step aboard the London Eye next month dressed in their official regalia as part of a fundraising event for Lambeth-based organisations.

Mayor of Lambeth Claudette Hewitt is organising the event on Wednesday 6 March at 7.30pm. She says: "The London Eye is one of the borough's most high profile landmarks. It is popular and highly entertaining. This event will give passengers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a good family night out and raise money for some deserving charities."

Three organisations are set to benefit from this function: Age Concern Lambeth, Sports for Lambeth, and Parents for Inclusion. Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for children under 12 years, or a whole capsule can be reserved for £190.

A complimentary glass of wine will be served on the flight.

Tickets are available from the mayor's office on 020 7926 2120.
