Police arrested a man in Tooley Street on Wednesday in connection with a shooting that happened in June 2004 on the Kirby Estate in SE16.
The victim – a man in his thirties – was in his car in Bonding Yard on the Kirby Estate when the incident occurred in 2004.
The suspect confronted the man sitting in his car and fired two shots from his handgun hitting the car. The victim was not injured.
The suspect then made off.
A man in his thirties was arrested today on suspicion of attempted murder.
The investigation is led by officers from Trident and Trafalgar.
"We are pleased with today's arrest and will continue to investigate this shooting rigorously," said DI John Louden, the officer in charge of the investigation. "Anyone with information should contact police on 020 8217 7368."
