The Millennium Bridge was shut to pedestrians for a time on Saturday and Sunday to allow the filming of a special effects sequence for the next Harry Potter movie.
The river was also closed to boats between Blackfriars Bridge and Southwark Bridge to allow a helicopter to fly low over the Millennium Bridge.
Harry Potter fan sites report that the filming – which did not involve any of the main cast – was for a special effects sequence which features the destruction of the Millennium Bridge.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is due for release later this year.
