Detectives have confirmed the identity of the 24-year-old man who died after being shot at the seOne nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A post mortem took place at Greenwich Mortuary on Monday and gave the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head. The deceased was formally identified as Errol Davis, 24, of Rotherhithe.
Errol was shot in the seOne nightclub on Weston Street at approximately 5.40am on Sunday 5 October.
It is believed he was approached by a man who produced a gun and shot him once from close range.
After being shot he was helped outside by his friends and an ambulance called. He was taken to the Royal London Hospital where despite efforts of medical staff he died at 11.50am.
Detectives have renewed their appeal for anyone who witnessed the shooting or who has any information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8247 4554 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
North Southwark and Bermondsey MP Simon Hughes has called the shooting a "tragedy" and a "waste of life".
"It isn't helpful to the reputation of a fantastic part of London with so much going for it that we have another killing here," he added.
