Bermondsey dentist Lydia Pink has been declared London's Best Young Dentist.
Lydia, who is part of the dental team at Tower Bridge Dental Surgery in Tower Bridge Road won 'Best Young Dentist, London 2008' at the Dentistry Awards event held at The Athena in Leicester.
The presentation was made by Olympic athlete and television-personality Kriss Akabusi.
The award followed a seven month assessment of short-listed candidates across Britain. The Awards were divided into nine UK regions to recognise outstanding young individuals, teams and practices.
Kate Magee, business development executive for organisers FMC Professional, said: "This year's Dentistry Awards ceremony was a fabulous triumph.
"The theming of the venue and the Cirque de Lumiere entertainment was trully stunning making the celebrations completely magical and everyone had an amazing time celebrating their success."
Last year Guy's Hospital-trained Lydia spent two weeks in Cambodia looking at children's teeth. She is personally sponsoring a child through school and planning to return this year.
