An eight-storey Travelodge hotel is planned the north-east corner of St George's Circus alongside Library Street. But concern is being expressed by the St George's Circus Group which has successfully campaigned to save the Georgian terraces opposite.
"We want all who care about the environment to write to Southwark Council opposing this development" says Ian Alderson from the Group. "If it is allowed to go ahead much of the achievement of the last year will be negated as the building will turn the northern half of the Circus into a canyon."
