A female cyclist was hit by a lorry on Thursday morning on Southwark Bridge Road and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident happened at 8.50am at the corner of Union Street and police said that no arrests have been made at this stage. The cyclist is believed to be in her 40s.
Southwark Bridge Road remained closed in both directions between Marshalsea Road and Union Street for several hours.
In the past two months two cyclists have died on SE1's streets after collisions with lorries. Professor David Vilaseca was fatally injured at the corner of Tower Bridge Road and Druid Street in mid-February and a month later medical student Haris Ahmed died at the junction of Weston Street and Snowsfields.
