Cyclist injured in lorry collision at Great Dover Street & Long Lane junction

A cyclist was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after a collision with an articulated lorry at the junction of Long Lane and Great Dover Street on Friday lunchtime.

Police were called at 1.10pm on Friday to reports of an accident close to St George the Martyr church and Borough Underground Station.

The London Air Ambulance landed in nearby Tabard Gardens.

The cyclist was able to talk to ambulance crews at the scene and was taken to hospital.

The collision happened just a few yards from the scene of a similar incident in June.
