Globe Academy pupils have plenty of new summer reading to enjoy after a generous donation of books to the school library.
Lord Cholmondeley has given 1,750 Faber titles to the school, including reference works such as The Faber Book of Science and The Story of English, classic works of literature such as Lord of the Flies by William Golding, and an impressive collection of poetry and plays.
Globe Academy librarian Charlotte Barton said: "We are incredibly grateful to Lord Cholmondeley for making such a generous donation. The books have attracted a lot of attention from the students and will be invaluable in supporting their studies."
Year 8 pupil Conise Doherty said: "The books are great – Lord Cholmondeley is really generous!"
Lord Cholmondeley is the Lord Great Chamberlain.
