Bermondsey man jailed for Jamaica Road shooting

24-year-old Delroy Phillips, of Lockwood Square, SE1 was sentenced to six years imprisonment at the Old Bailey on Friday 4 October for attempting to rob City Wines off-licence in Jamaica Road, Bermondsey and shooting the shopkeeper in July 2002.

Phillips was sentenced to six years imprisonment for wounding with intent; two years for possession of a firearm; and three years for attempted robbery. All sentences are to run concurrently.

He was also sentenced to nine months for a residential burglary; three months for assaulting a police officer; and two lots of six months for two non-residential burglaries, all to run concurrently. These sentences are to run consecutively with the sentences for the City Wines charges.
