Better Bankside held its eighth annual race in Borough Market which was won by the 'Creped Crusaders' team from RBS's Southwark Street offices.

Other entrants included teams from Borough Market, Glaziers Hall, Decanter magazine, Winkworth Sherwood, Southwark Council, Vinopolis and etc venues.

The races were started by Canon Bruce Saunders, sub dean of Southwark Cathedral. Money raised by the competition goes to the Paintings in Hospitals charity which is based at the Menier Gallery.

The winners receive a trophy made by Bermondsey-based London Glassblowing as well as individual cook kits from Borough Market.

For the second year the Flipping Marvellous SE1 Charity Pancake Race took place on the More London estate near London Bridge.

This year's champions were the team from Kalmars, the Shad Thames-based estate agents.

Competitors included staff from the Aqua Shard restaurant, Norton Rose Fulbright, PwC, the Stress Exchange and Time & Talents.

The event is a Team London Bridge and London Bubble Theatre initiative in aid of LB+, a creative training programme for young people.
