Park Plaza Hotels Europe last month unveiled plans for the Riverbank Park Plaza on the Albert Embankment, a stunning position directly opposite Tate Britain affords spectacular views of Westminster Abbey, the London Eye and Parliament.
Styled and designed by Baranowitz Kronenberg Architecture and American company Rockwell Group - best known for creating Manhattan style havens such as the Chambers Hotel, W New York, W Union Square, the Kodak Theatre Hollywood and Nobu New York - the hotel is set to become an exciting new addition to the London cityscape. Plans include a multi-storied atrium lobby and themed restaurant and bar.
Scheduled to open in Spring 2005, the four-star deluxe hotel will have 396 luxury guest rooms and 66 suites. Conference facilities will cater for up to 800 guests for a reception and 780 delegates theatre-style. The jewel in The Crown is the 450-capacity Thames Room with floor to ceiling windows providing an unrivalled setting overlooking the Thames.
The individually designed guest rooms will include bespoke furniture, air conditioning, two separate telephone lines, plasma television screens, wireless internet connection and safes for laptop computers. All rooms will have UK, EU and US sockets provided, negating the need for cumbersome adapters.
The hotel will have private parking for guests and a state-of-the-art health and fitness club.
